Faculty Course Development Resources

Course Development Support for Remote Instruction

CETL and AET are offering a variety of resources to help faculty with course development for spring 2021 Instruction. These include a collection of resources built for faculty on best-practices and strategies for moving your course from face-to-face to mixed delivery modalities. Check out the faculty self-assessment tool, weekly technology workshops, extended Faculty Institute and our Templates Workshop. For more information and links to sign up see the sections below.

Use Course Templates to Build your Course site

AET Instructional Designers have created 2 easy-to-use course templates for faculty. The first, Golden Blue Starter has a basic layout and modular organizational structure. The second, Golden Blue Power, has more design aspects along with a modular organizational structure. These can be downloaded directly into your spring course site from a Course called Starter or Power Templates in Canvas Commons.

  • Join a course building workshop. Held across 4 consecutive days in early January, this workshop is designed to get your course site built quickly using pre-built templates to organize and add content. Starting with your syllabus, you will create a roadmap, select and download a template, add a minimum of four weeks of your course content, learn and practice video recording and create a welcome video for your students. You will have the opportunity to work with course design experts throughout the process and discuss ideas and strategies with faculty peers . REGISTER HERE
