Troublesome Long Vowels
Thurs. / 11:30a-12:30p / COB 209
International faculty, staff, and students: Do your students, colleagues, or friends occasionally misunderstand you when you speak English? In this workshop we will examine long vowels (e.g. long e, i and a) that are commonly mispronounced by non-native speakers, with a focus on practicing overcoming common pronunciation errors. This workshop is especially for non-native speakers of English who would like to improve their pronunciation. Feel free to bring international spouses and your questions!
This series is sponsored by the English Language Institute, part of the Center for Engaged Teaching & Learning (CETL). For information, contact Belinda Braunstein at ELI@ucmerced.edu.
