Grammar Workshop: Is That a Sentence? Phrases vs. Clauses
Wed. / 1:30-2:30pm / COB 209
Clauses are complete thoughts, with both a subject and a verb in each; phrases are not. Being able to identify phrases and clauses in your writing will help you recognize possible errors in sentence structure. Come practice adding details to content with several types of phrases, and increase your mastery of written English. You are welcome to bring a piece of writing you are currently working on, but this is not required to attend! Handouts provided.
This workshop series is sponsored by the English Language Institute (ELI), part of the Center for Engaged Teaching & Learning. Undergrads, grad students, staff, and spouses are all welcome to participate. For more info, email Belinda Braunstein at email@example.com. View the semester's workshop schedule here.
